Mirror’s Edge is a single-player first person action-adventure video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) and published by Electronic Arts. A Windows version was released on January 16, 2009. Mirror’s Edge is powered by the Unreal Engine 3 with the addition of a new lighting solution, developed by Illuminate Labs in association with DICE.Faith Connors is a runner, a person used to transport confidential items and information through the city while evading government surveillance. The game’s story follows Faith and her struggle to free her sister, who was framed for a murder, from a corrupt government. Her parents were killed while protesting against the government and she was forced to grow up on the street, later becoming a runner. As Faith attempts to rescue her sister, while running messages for the criminal underworld, she gets caught up in a series of events which lead to her being pursued by the totalitarian government.

The game has a realistic, brightly coloured style and differs from most other first-person perspective video games in allowing for a wider range of actions—such as sliding under barriers, tumbling, wall-running, and shimmying across ledges—and greater freedom of movement, in having no heads-up display, and in allowing the legs, arms, and torso of the character to be visible on-screen. Mirror’s Edge is set in a society where communication is heavily monitored by a totalitarian regime, and so a network of runners, including the main character, Faith, are used to transmit messages while evading government surveillance. In the style of a three-dimensional platform game, the player guides Faith over rooftops, across walls, and through ventilation shafts, negotiating obstacles in parkour fashion.

Personal Notes:
This is the first time a game has won the POTW twice….the reason being, the CXZ port was flawed, in a major way. As in the mouse didn’t really work, at al, on both levels. Well now it does and it it is truly deserved of the POTW. Not only because it works 100%, but because of the amount of the work that has been done to get this game to work. Pluto999 we salute you!

Drag and drop the Mirror's Edge.app to your preferred gaming folder

Follow the instruction included in the folders on the .dmg to install the DLC map pack

Grand Theft Auto 2 (abbreviated as GTA2) is a video game that was released worldwide on October 22, 1999, by developer DMA Design (now Rockstar North); initially for the Windows operating system and the PlayStation console.
GTA2 is set in an unspecified time in a metropolis referred to only as "Anywhere, USA", but the game's manual uses the phrase "three weeks into the future"; fictional journal entries on the GTA2 website suggest the year to be 2013. Radio host Johnny Riccaro mentions in the game that "the millennium's coming," which would set the game shortly before 2000. The player is a man named Claude Speed, who is freed from prison, having awakened from a cryonic sleep but experiences amnesia. The storyline shifts to his goal of becoming the "King of the City" by any means necessary.

Notes:
The resolution can't be changed in game - you will have to leave it at the preset value.

Known Issues:
If you klick on Options in the main menu the game will crash, so don't do it. Controls and other settings have already been configured for you.

Please note that this game has not been tested on Macs with GMA 950 chips, but it is likely to work.

Spore (DVD ISO)

In Spore the player has to accompany a new race through five stages of it's evolution. First there is the Cellphase: From a top-down view the goal is to eat meteorite parts floating in the primordial soup to gain DNA points. But the player's creature is not alone and other, friendly or not-so-friendly organisms float about. If the player kills other alpha organisms, he unlocks a new part for the creature editor like a new mouth. These parts all give the player's creature different abilities including singing or a better attack and even affect what the creature can eat. As the player collect's DNA points, the creature grows and moves up into a higher layer of the primordial soup until he is big enough to advance to the next stage: the creature phase. At the beginning of the Creature Phase the player needs to redo his creature in the creature editor with a new set of parts like feet or hands. Then the goal is again to collect DNA points by roaming the land and befriending or killing the other inhabitants. Again there can be additional parts for the editor found which are dropped by alpha creature that get killed either by you or other, bigger creatures. If the player chooses not to attack but rather talk to the other races, he needs to gain their trust by following their lead and doing what they do. While the lowest creatures see you as a friend already when you just sing with them, more advanced races require a high level in dancing and other abilities which are again gained by rebuilding the creature in the editor with the gained DNA points and available parts. Once the player has collected enough DNA points and developed a certain level of intelligence by doing so, he can enter the tribes phase.
